We have a copy of the hugely informative The Compost Coach by Kate Flood, aka Compostable Kate, to giveaway!
“Spin food waste and household carbon into garden gold, learn about how and why soil matters, and make climate activism an everyday mission, with compost coach Kate Flood. The Compost Coach is a colourful, comprehensive and accessible guide to creating the very best compost AKA garden gold. Kate is on a mission to empower readers to understand the small steps they can take every day to look after the environment and live more sustainability. The book is pitched at the home composter, including people who live in apartments and houses with or without gardens (yes, you can compost without a garden!). Kate helps the reader to rethink their waste management and teaches them how easy it is to divert food scraps and household carbon away from landfill. She unravels the technicalities of soil science, talks through the building blocks of a robust compost system and busts a few myths along the way. Charming illustrations, how-to photos, and Kate’s warm, entertaining voice complete the package.”
To enter the draw send us a picture of your compost set up – be it a tidy Bokashi bin, a three bay pallet-made extravaganza, or a trusty black plastic Tardis-type. The most impressive or creatively captured compost system will be judged the winner by a panel of home composters here at the Co-op.
But wait, there’s more! To help get your spring gardening off to a flying start we’ll also throw in a selection of organic seeds, a bottle of Grow liquid fertiliser, and some worm juice from our market garden!
Send your photo, with your name and phone number, to hello@bmfoodcoop.org.au with Compost Comp in the subject line. Good luck!
Competition opens Thursday 14th September and closes Monday 2nd October.
And don’t forget to check out our range of gardening goodies in the Little Shop – we’ve got tools, seeds, wicking beds, natural fertiliser, planting charts, sunscreen, hats, natural insect repellent and more!
