FEATURED PRODUCT: CITRIC ACID

·         Citric acid is a naturally occurring preservative used in canning, flavouring and cleaning.

·         As a weak organic acid it is commonly used in powder form but it is found in all citrus fruits.

·         Anti-bacterial and antiseptic

·         Removes stains and adhesives from stainless steel·         Cuts through grease and stains on floors, countertops and tables – you can disinfect and clean kitchen countertops with a solution of nine parts water to one part acid.

·         Descale and disinfect inside of washing machines – in an empty washing machine add 2 tablespoons of citric acid, use hot water and run on longest cycle.

·         Descale taps and shower doors – make a solution of one litre of warm water and two tablespoons of citric acid. Make sure it is dissolved. Spray and let sit for 5 mins and wipe clean.

·         Clean dirty windows – use litres of warm water mixed with 2 tablespoons of citric acid. Spray on and wipe off.

·         Clean toilet – take ¾ cup of citric acid and sprinkle into toilet. Leave in overnight. Do not flush. The next morning brush and flush.

·         Get rid of wine stains – use one part citric acid and two parts baking soda. Sprinkle over stain, mist with water until it fizzes, let sit for five minutes then scrub away.

ALL PURPOSE HOUSEHOLD RECIPE

·         1 tablespoon liquid Castile soap

·         1 teaspoon baking soda

·         ½ teaspoon citric acid

·         water to fill a 500 ml spray bottle

 

 

HEALTH AND HANDLING

While generally considered safe, if you have existing respiratory problems be careful when using citric acid as it can aggravate these conditions. Always wear gloves and keep cleaning products away from your eyes.
