BOOMERANG BAGS OFF TO FLYING START

Boomerang Bags Blue Mountains have got off to a flying start with working/sewing bees in Katoomba, Springwood and Hazelbrook over the last month. This fabulous community initiative aims to reduce plastic bag use by creating a stock of fabric bags that can be borrowed and returned to bag stations across the Blue Mountains.

Local Gundungurra man David King will be at the Co-op’s new space this Saturday 18 March, sharing stories about his family and The Gully (Garguree) – a designated Aboriginal place in Katoomba, and a special place in our community.

Come hear the stories of Aunty Mary’s removal and reconnection from her son David. Have a laugh, shed a tear and see the Aboriginal connection to Country.  This Saturday from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, Shop 3 Ha’penny Lane Katoomba (just across the lane from the main shop).

Join the Co-op’s Wellness Wednesday practitioners for a conversation about eating mindfully for health and wellbeing, and learn some simple mindfulness techniques to help you stop, savour and reconnect to the deep nourishment in every mouthful.

On the panel: herbalist Chris Ireland, yoga teacher and holistic health advisor Danielle O’Donohue, and accredited practising dietitian and mindfulness practitioner Sallyanne Pisk.

When: Saturday 18 February, 3.00-4.00pm
